Why?
- Made by native speakers -> authentic (including dialect!)
- Child/youth-centered
- Made for L2-learners
- Improves cultural competences
Tasks:
1. What should you do when you are in Sydney? Listen to the text and write down what Richard recommends.
2. What would you do if you had to chose one of the activities? Why?
3. Imagine: A friend from Australia visits you in your hometown. What would you recommend him to do there and why? Write your ideas down in a letter to him or search for a partner and try a role-play!

Dear Peter,
Thanks for your tasks. In general they are quite good. Problematic is that students don’t get an introductory task that prepares them for listening to this specific podcast. Maybe you could do something like a slide show on Sydney or a research task on the web. In general students would need more guidance or help while listening to the podcast, maybe a sheet of paper with pictures of the mentioned sights.
I like your post-listening because it is student-centred and challenges their language skills.
